WAUSAU, WI – May 4, 2016 – The Ghidorzi Green & Clean had its most impactful year ever since the event began in 2010 in terms of volunteers and volume of trash collected. One thousand volunteers removed a record high 3.72 tons of litter from the greater Wausau landscape, as reported by Advanced Disposal, which donated its dumpsters and trash removal services in support of the cause. The Ghidorzi Green & Clean event has now removed a grand total of 17.26 tons of trash from our community.
Thank you to each of the 1,000 volunteers who pitched in on April 23 and all 39 Event Partners. These are the businesses and organizations who rally around the Ghidorzi Green & Clean by forming a team and recruiting volunteers. Ghidorzi Companies would also like to thank REI Engineering for the logistical support they have provided since the event’s inception, River Valley Bank for the addition of a brat fry lunch and WDEZ radio personalities Bryan Scott and Terry Stevens for emceeing the event kickoff.
Please mark your calendars for next year’s event on Earth Day, April 22, 2017. In the meantime, our photo album on Facebook truly captures the spirit of the Ghidorzi Green & Clean and community pride of our volunteers: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1065223213516547.1073741839.105038259535052&type=3
