The Wausau community showed up in force for Ghidorzi Green and Clean 2026, making a powerful impact through teamwork, pride and shared commitment to a cleaner community!
On Saturday April 25, more than 620 volunteers joined forces across Wausau, Rib Mountain, Schofield, Rothschild and Weston to remove 3.28 tons of trash from local neighborhoods, parks and roadways. Since the event began in 2010, the Ghidorzi Green and Clean has now removed an incredible 47.42 tons of trash from the community.
This year’s event welcomed support from 26 Event Partners, whose enthusiasm and community involvement helped bring volunteers together for another successful cleanup effort. Families, friends, coworkers and community groups spent the morning working side-by-side to help make Greater Wausau shine a little brighter.
The day began with the annual Kick-Off Event at Corporate Cove Tower, where volunteers gathered for fresh donuts, Starbucks coffee, giveaways, an appearance from Miss Wausau and live announcements from WIFC’s Dave Kallaway and WSAW’s Chad Franzen before heading out to their cleanup sites. Adding to the excitement was the beautiful spring weather, with sunshine and blue skies creating the perfect backdrop for a morning of giving back.
More than a cleanup event, the Ghidorzi Green and Clean continues to serve as a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with pride and purpose. Thank you to every volunteer, Event Partner and supporter who helped make this year’s event another success!
