Governor Scott Walker Visits Ghidorzi Design Build Construction Site to Applaud Mid-State Truck for Investing in Wisconsin Economy

EAU CLAIRE, WI – June 6, 2014– Governor Scott Walker visited the Ghidorzi design build construction site of the new Mid-State Truck facility this afternoon.

Governor Walker toured the 36,000 square foot project located on 12.7 acres of land, applauding Mid-State Truck’s $5.5 million investment in the new facility.  “Hopefully we’re sending a message that Wisconsin is open for business,” said Governor Walker.

“It is an honor to bring a building vision to life for Jon and Tom Vandehey who are independent business owners moving the Wisconsin economy forward with their new Mid-State Truck facility and for Governor Walker to recognize their commitment with his visit,” said Brian Ghidorzi, Vice President of Design Build Services for Ghidorzi Companies.  Ghidorzi Companies is providing the architectural, construction and interior design services for the project.

The state-of-the-art facility, located on the diamond interchange of US-53 and Melby Road in Chippewa Falls, Wis., will house a full service medium and heavy-duty Navistar Truck Dealership providing sales, service and parts in addition to commercial truck leasing and rental.  Key features include a DOW building design which provides increased insulation and less energy usage, Johnson Controls HVAC Control System which reduces energy consumption, high-efficiency LED lighting, as well as employee electric vehicle parking with recharging stations.

This facility will also house the region’s only dedicated and fully equipped alternative fuel service bays which include both compressed and liquid natural gas.  The building is equipped with eight drive-through bays; each three stalls deep for servicing up to 24 tractors at a time, substantial space for parking and in-out access, domiciled plug-in and trailer drop.  Driver amenities will include a customer lounge equipped with comfortable seating and a big screen TV, in addition to facility-wide WIFI and computers with internet access.

The new facility will consolidate the current Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire locations into a larger, more efficient and conveniently located facility employing over 35 employees.  Building construction is scheduled to conclude in late August.

Mid-State Truck has seven locations throughout Central and Western Wisconsin.
