Wausau, Wis. – May 12, 2015 – The landmark building at 400 Westwood Drive in Wausau, Wis. is the vibrant headquarters of a thriving local company once again. Today WAUSAU Financial Systems, a Deluxe Corporation company, celebrates its move to the building with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Originally built for Wausau Insurance Company, the Westwood Drive building continues its tradition as a hub for vibrant national businesses.
Ghidorzi completed a design/build remodel and build-out to reflect the elements important for WAUSAU’s relocation to this facility. Particular emphasis was placed on the arrival experience in the lobby with new interior finishes, a custom reception desk and a spectacular art installation for which Ghidorzi commissioned local artist Jim Thurs of Perennial Steel with creative direction from the Ghidorzi interior design team and Randy Verhasselt of Evolutions in Design.
“Today we are celebrating the win-win scenario that is achieved when we can take a landmark building like 400 Westwood, reconfigure it for a thriving tenant like WAUSAU Financial Systems in order bring its walls to life,” said Chris Ghidorzi, VP of Property Development for Ghidorzi Companies.
Other project highlights include equipping the building for the company’s highly specialized IT needs and modernizing the cafeteria area where care was taken to preserve the building’s character while increasing the function for employees.
Ghidorzi Companies acquired the 56,000 sq. ft. building at 400 Westwood Drive in 2004. Advanced Pain Management is also a tenant of the building.
