Ghidorzi recently collaborated with the E.L.M. Repair & Refrigeration team to design and build their vision for a facility tailored to servicing and enhancing vehicle performance for diesel trucks and equipment. The sleek building design achieves E.L.M.’s wish list of building functionality while exemplifying their brand inside and out.
The 33,184 square foot facility includes professional office space in addition to the parts and service departments. Ghidorzi provided the full spectrum of design build services, serving as architect, general contractor and interior designer.
The repair shop features multiple bays – each with crane, tool and fluid access – that allow trucks to stay onsite until parts arrive. A custom 100 ft. pit enables vehicle maintenance from underneath the length of a truck and trailer. The shop is fully outfitted to perform onsite dyno testing and even includes a dedicated engine rebuilding room.
The new E.L.M. facility is engineered for durability, energy efficiency and sustainability as evidenced by numerous building features:
- Innovative building materials used to achieve a superior R value, the degree to which a building can resist temperature change.
- Natural daylight maximized through two-story windows in the office area as well as the shop where glass on the garage doors and skylights on the roof allow banks of light to be shut down during peak hours.
- LED lights throughout the facility to deliver more lumens at an energy savings of 30%.
- In-floor heat fueled by recycled waste oil warms technician work areas without heating the larger shop area.
Ghidorzi designed and built this project to serve E.L.M.’s facility needs now and for the long term with turnkey readiness for expansion to accommodate future growth.
